Good in the Hood Volunteers

Imagine Black is searching for reliable and trustworthy volunteers to support the organization in achieving our outreach goals.

The volunteer will support Imagine Black at the Good in the Hood Festival event. Volunteering activities include but aren’t limited to distributing flyers, brochures, or other materials, answering questions from attendees, and engaging in discussions to generate interest and support for the organization's missions and increase overall visibility.

Volunteers can perform any number of tasks at Imagine Black:

Set-up Volunteers: volunteers can assist with running supply and material errands, decorating, arranging tabling materials, helping with set-up of our information tables and event equipment.

Albina Queens Volunteers: volunteers can assist with staffing our information table at the Good in the Hood Festival; this volunteer will hand props to the people we’re taking photos of. They might be helping set up the backdrop, rearranging the plants & chairs that make up the set. They might be helping keep track of technology, charging batteries, or holding a photo reflector to light the subjects.

Informational Table Volunteers: volunteers can assist with staffing our information table at the Good in the Hood Festival; greeting guests and handing out flyers and swag.

Street Team Volunteers: volunteers can assist with engaging community members to gather environmental justice perspectives via face-to-face conversations. They will be surveying people in groups of two. Street Team volunteers must be comfortable using an iPad and Typeform software.

Breakdown Volunteers: volunteers can assist with post-tabling tasks, such as packing up materials and supplies, cleaning up the tabling booth space, carrying items to the car, and making sure that trash and recycle are deposited in the correct area.
